Hobbit Training Program

Are you a singing piano player interested in becoming a performer with Dueling Hobbits Productions? Wonderful!

We are a growing business in search of talent to train and hire for our dueling piano shows.

It is part of our business model to find and train talented singing piano players to become dueling piano players. As our business grows, our demand for good performers in each local market grows as well.

We started dueling in 2010 for a club in downtown St Louis, MO. In 2014 we launched our own company, grew and expanded to Portland, Oregon in 2016 and Nashville, TN in 2018.

Currently, we are looking to train players in Oregon, Washington, Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee.

Fb Dueling Hobbits Profile PicCandidates will train with both owners Shannon (Bachelors Degree in classical piano and composition from Luther College) and Nick Schlueter (Bachelors Degree in jazz and composition from Webster University).

If you feel like you have the skill set to become a dueling piano player, please contact Shannon for more information and to setup and audition. Auditions and training sessions can be done online (typically twice a month). If you already have dueling piano experience and you are looking for more work, give us a shout.

The expectation is players in training will need to learn and memorize 2-3 songs per week off a dueling piano core song list developed by our company. Cost of training sessions and duration of training program is dependent upon each individual’s situation, song list, and talent.

Training Testimonial

Working with Shannon has been a blast! He is a natural teacher. I've been a piano player for 20+ years and he always comes up with new ways to challenge me to be better. Shannon has a wealth of dueling piano experience from which to draw. He can give advice on inventive song arrangements and ways to draw a crowd in with every song. Whether you're a new player or someone looking to improve your skills, Shannon can give you the instruction you need to get better.
